My partner surprised me with tickets to see the ‘Morecombe’ & Wise show at City Varieties in Leeds.
The show was both brilliant, funny and yet had the ability to move you to tears.  It was a one-man show in which you were taken through the journey of his Morecombe’s life; from childhood, to meeting Ernie Wise, the up’s and downs of their career through to his death.  I was a fan of the Morecombe and Wise show during my childhood in the 80’s and the show certainly took you back to your own childhood. What certainly came through in the show was Eric’s love and respect for our town’s own Ernie Wise, the friendship was strong and Ernie supported Eric through his illness.
