Campaigning to Stop Over Development
It is fantastic to see the campaign against over-development in Churwell being highlighted in our new local paper, the Morley & District Press.
Local residents and I share concerns over the loss of green spaces, and impact on local infrastructure and environment that these housing developments will cause.
Alongside local independents, residents, and activist groups such as Preserve our Churwell, I have for many years objected to the Labour Council’s high housing target that has led to over-development in our area.
Churwell Hill is already a busy road, and at peak times everyone in our area knows it must be avoided. Adding another housing development would only increase congestion, potentially by up to 1000 additional cars, and put pressure on local infrastructure.
I will continue to stand with local people and oppose these inappropriate developments.
