Andrea waves Teddy off on fundraising tour
Andrea met Paul Westerman and Cecilia Richmond of local firm Taylor CVs, to discuss Charity Oars, a charity started by Mr Westerman after he suffered a massive pulmonary embolism. For the last two years Charity Oars has asked celebrities and sports personalities to sign a pair of hand crafted wooden oars which will be auctioned off to raise funds for the charity Thrombosis UK. Thrombosis UK are dedicated to promoting awareness, research and care of this condition.
Paul and Cecilia brought Teddy, the teddy bear at the heart of a related fundraising campaign, to meet Andrea. Teddy will be travelling to New Zealand via Australia, Singapore, Japan, China, South Africa, Tanzania, USA, Canada, Chile, France, Germany, Spain and Holland to collect his own set of mini Charity Oars which he will bring back to the UK. His travels will be publicised via a website to raise awareness of Thrombosis and when he returns he will be auctioned off in aid of Thrombosis UK.
Andrea said “I was delighted to meet with Paul, Cecilia, and of course Teddy, to discuss the great work they are doing to raise funds for Thrombosis UK. As a trustee of a health charity I know the vital role they play in the fight to improve people’s lives, both in Britain and abroad. I can’t wait to read about Teddy’s travels adventures around the world.”
