Andrea takes centre stage at Conference

Andrea took centre stage at this week’s Conservative Party Conference introducing the Chancellor of the Exchequer, George Osborne.

As a fellow Northern MP, Andrea talked about the Chancellor’s plans for the Northern Powerhouse, and thanked him for his support during the election campaign.

She received a warm welcome in the hall following her election victory over the then Shadow Chancellor Ed Balls.

In her introduction, Andrea said:

“As a passionate Northerner and Yorkshirewoman, it is an incredibly exciting time to be an MP in the North of England.

“For too long politicians looked only to London to create growth.

“It’s this Chancellor who’s putting it right and truly creating a Northern Powerhouse.”

Speaking after the speech, Andrea said:

“It was a huge honour to introduce the Chancellor on stage at Conference.

“He was incredibly supportive of me and other Conservative candidates at the election, so I was especially pleased with the chance to thank him for that.”
