Visit Westminster

Tours of the Palace of Westminster take in the historic heart of our parliamentary democracy. Depending on when you are available to visit, you will be guided around the gothic spleandour of the House of Lords and the Royal Apartments, the austere political hub of the House of Commons, and the incredible sights of Westminster Hall, St Stephen's Hall and Central Lobby.

You can experience the drama and excitement of debates in the House of Commons by requesting tickets for the Public Gallery. Watch as the Prime Minister is grilled by MPs, or see a debate on new legislation.

Please note that all requests are treated in order of receipt and we cannot guarantee we will be able to secure your chosen dates, though we will do our very best. Visits should be booked at least six months in advance.

The areas you can see on the tour depends on whether the Houses are sitting.

Tours are either Full Tours, which include both chambers, or Partial Tours, which include either the House of Lords or the House of Commons. All tours include Westminster Hall, St Stephen's and Central Lobby.

On sitting days the timings available are as follows:

Monday: 9am-12pm Full Tour

Tuesday: 9am-9.55 am Full Tour, 10am-12pm House of Lords Tour only

Wednesday: 9am - 9.55am Full Tour, 10am - 12pm House of Lords Tour only

Where possible tours will be accommodated by the Tours Office. However if we are unable to book you onto an official tour we will endeavour to arrange for you to be shown around by a member of the team.
