Reaction to the closure of Joseph Priestley Campus

I was disappointed to learn of Leeds City  College’s decision to close Morley’s Joseph Priestley Campus. The uncertainty this causes local families could not come at a worse time, as many school leavers were hoping to start courses in Morley in September. Having campaigned with parents, college staff, and local councillors to keep the campus open and met with representatives of the college, I was relieved to hear that they are looking to retain provision of some access and community learning courses in our town and are seeking alternative sites on which they could do this. I will continue to work to get the best deal possible for Morley.
