Campaigning in and around Drighlington

I had the exciting opportunity recently to talk about my experience as a Conservative in the North on BBC Radio 4 and take the team from the BBC canvassing. We met a floating voter and also a gentleman who is an ex-miner, who votes Conservative.

Yorkshire’ Eh Bah Gum Festival’ in Morley

What a wonderful day Saturday, and the Morley Chamber and all the organisers deserve to be congratulated for a very enjoyable, engaging and fun day at the festival. There really was something for everyone; from encouraging people to get involved with sport and the chance to have a go at playing tennis, through to sampling local food, engaging with charities plus many more different stalls.

First Column in the Wakefield Express

Welcome to my first column. It is a privilege to be standing as the prospective parliamentary candidate for Morley and Outwood, it is a role that I take seriously and I am 100% committed to.  Firstly a little bit about myself; I am aged 39, a Yorkshire lass, I have worked as a store manager in Wakefield, and the White Rose Centre. A life outside politics with over 15 years in management in the private sector working for multi-national companies, I also taught as a music tutor in three secondary schools.

Meeting with Planning Minister Nick Boles

I arranged for MARC (Morley Against Reckless Construction) group and Cllr Finnigan to meet with the Planning Minister Nick Boles to discuss the LDF.

On the campaign trail in Morley and Outwood

I have had some great campaigning days over the last few weeks. From delivering leaflets and conducting surveys of residents’ views on both local and national issues. I would like to say a big thank you to both the residents for taking part in the surveys and for the wonderful volunteers who are helping my campaign.

Campaigning since my selection

I was selected in an open primary on the 4th April that was chaired by Pudsey Member of Parliament Stuart Andrew.  Since my selection I have been getting around the area meeting with residents, businesses and community groups.
