Prime Minister visits our area

It was great to receive our Prime Minister David Cameron in our constituency again today; this is the third time in seven months.

Support for local parents

The next Conservative Government will double the free hours of childcare provided for working parents of 3 and 4-year-olds, from 15 hours to 30 hours a week during term time.  For families with young children, childcare is not one issue – it is THE issue. This policy is designed to help them in the choices they make. It will be available to all families where all parents work – even those who work part time and will be additional to existing entitlements, including Tax Free Childcare and Universal Credit.

This will be paid for by increasing taxes on very wealthy people’s pensions. “People who have saved and put their hard-earned mone...y into their home shouldn’t have to pay inheritance tax when they pass it on their children.

Easter Weekend

Discussing the NHS on ITV Calendar; My Views

Last night I was featured on ITV Calendar with three other parliamentary candidates discussing the NHS. Healthcare is the reason that I first decided to stand for parliament. The NHS is important to me and having lost my father through catching a hospital infection following a routine operation, I have seen how things can go wrong, however at the same time my mother had a knee replacements last year and had excellent care so I know when things are good too. Therefore to me personally it is about ensuring continuity of good care throughout the country.
