Dear Morley Observer,I just wanted to write in and congratulate the Morley Amateur Operatic Society for their outstanding pantomime, which even equalled the excellent Cinderella performance of last year.

Fighting to find a cure to a global threat

Andrea Jenkyns, the Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for Morley and Outwood, addressed nearly 700 people at the UK BioIndustry association’s annual dinner at the Natural History Museum, London. Andrea, who lost her father Clifford to an MRSA infection contracted in Pinderfields Hospital, has campaigned on hospital cleanliness and drug resistance issues for some time, was invited speak at the event on behalf of the charity Antibiotic Research UK to tell her story and help to raise money into finding new strains of antibiotics.

Prime Minister & Chancellor Visits Tingley

The Prime Minister David Cameron and Chancellor George Osborne visited Yorkshire on Thursday; firstly making a speech in Leeds to discuss their plans for Yorkshire and then stopping off in the Village Hotel, Tingley in the evening to show their support for parliamentary candidate Andrea Jenkyns.

Senior Minister Visits Morley

Cabinet Office Minister Francis Maude addressed a meeting of the Morley and Outwood Business Association (MOBA), organised by parliamentary candidate Andrea Jenkyns, hosted by Morley firms Archbold Logistics and Shopbox. At the event Andrea launched her business and skills survey, an online survey designed to find out what skills local employers are looking for.

Job losses at CityLink in Morley

Like many people I was shocked and saddened to hear on Christmas day that CityLink went into administration. The fact that the announcement was made on Christmas Day made this all the more shocking, I’m sure it added insult to injury for the workers and their families that were affected.
