Morley WW1 Centenary Celebrations
Morley WW1 Centenary Celebrations
It was an honour to sing today at the Yorkshire Day and WW1 Remembrance celebrations in Morley. I wore clothing inspired by the era and sang a collection of patriotic songs including Jerusalem. It was an amazing day and well done to all involved in organising the event.
On Monday I will pause and light a candle at 11pm UK time to make the importance and to remember all those who fought and died for our great country. On August 4th 1914, Great Britain declared war on Germany. Led by Morley born Prime Minister Herbert Asquith, who had given Germany an ultimatum to get out of Belgium by midnight of August 3rd. May we remember and never forget those who fought and sacrificed for the freedom we have today. God bless to them all.
