Justine Greening visits Outwood Grange Academy

The Secretary of State for International Development, Justine Greening, visited Outwood Grange Academy today.

Andrea Jenkyns arranged with the school to meet with her and explained that, “I took the Secretary of State for International Development Justine Greening to meet a group of sixth form students today.  I believe that it is important for young people to engage with politics and get the chance to speak to politicians and put forward their views, after all they are our future”. The students who are studying Politics and Geography listened to Ms Greening describe both how she got involved in politics; coming from a humble Yorkshire background and her role in international development.

The students then went on to ask her a series of questions about both international aid and how Britain is doing her part in protecting women and children.  Justine Greening MP explained how Britain is leading the way in ensuring that children in these poor, developing and war torn countries are getting a good education whilst making sure that there is not a lost generation.

“I would like to personally thank Justine Greening, the staff at Outwood Grange Academy and the pupils, for what turned out to be an interesting and informative session”. Andrea Jenkyns.
