Great News for Our Local Schools

Schools

I am so pleased that recent figures show that 19 out of 29 primary schools in Morley and Outwood have seen an significant increase from last year in the proportion of pupils achieving the expected standard in reading, writing and mathematics.

Thanks to the hard work of teachers and pupils who have adjusted well to the reformed KS2 tests, the national average has increased from 61% to 64% this year. These more demanding KS2 tests have set a higher standard in schools, bringing England’s primary school curriculum closer to the curricula common in countries with the most successful education systems.

I am so proud of our local area and could not be more pleased with the further progress our schools have made this past year. I always enjoy visiting the students of our local schools, hearing their views for their future, taking questions, and thanking the fantastic staff.

I have written to the head teachers of each of the below schools expressing my pride in the extremely successful schools in our local area.
