Wishing you and your families a very merry Christmas and a happy new year!
I would like to wish each and everyone of you, right across our local area, a very festive and restful Christmas.
This year has been a difficult and challenging for many of us, but we can all take great pride in the fantastic community spirit our area has shown this year. Countless have volunteered, local businesses have donated food and equipment; families, friends, and neighbours have helped keep each other safe,
and we have all shown that we can overcome any challenge- together.
This spirit, is very much reflected in the Christmas festivities.
I would also, once again, like to take this opportunity to express the gratitude of both myself and our local area for the key workers that have helped keep our country moving in 2020, from NHS teams to shop workers, all of our fantastic hardworking community heroes have lifted our spirits and kept things moving forward. Thank you.
Though we may be more apart that we would like this Christmas, and I share that disappointment. I know we are turning the tide. The UK is leading the world in vaccinating against COVID and we will soon be able to come together as normal once again.
There is genuine cause for optimism this as we approach the new year, and though there is some way to go- we are on the path to recovery. I hope this optimism will bring you light this Christmas, and I hope we will meet again very soon.
Best wishes for a safe and peaceful Christmas,
Andrea
