As we know the World Health Organisation announced that there is a global shortage of PPE gear, which is concerning for all frontline staff in the fight against Coronavirus.
Well it is in dark times like these that quite often we see our communities pull together with amazing results.
Following a day of phone calls, I am pleased to say that buisnesses in our local area have stepped up and made us all proud. Within just a few short hours, a few thousand items of PPE equipment was donated to Leeds Hospital Trust by businessman Kieth Harrison, and tomorrow Associated Wate Management, Express Bifolding Doors, and the College of Animal Welfare are all donating thousands more. This is an amazing response from our local business community and I cannot thank them enough.
Another local employer, Coca Cola, are also going to donate their products to staff working in hospitals on the front line, a great boost for morale!
At this unprecidented and difficult time, it is acts such as these, the volunteers in our communities, the people working in our care homes, in our NHS, in retail and haulage, who are keeping our country safe, fed, and moving forwards towards the day when life will return to normal. We cannot thank you enough for all you are doing.
