
I am pleased that the Government has outlined a roadmap out of lockdown and towards greater freedoms. It will be useful for businesses and families across the country to know when to expect things to change, and I hope that both our vaccine program continues to go from strength to strength and that no huge case rises force the Government to delay these steps in order to protect public health.Β

Key dates include
8 March:
All schools will open to all pupils
1-to-1 outdoor recreation e.g. coffee/drink/picnic in park with a friend.
29 March:
Larger groups can meet outside: either max 6 people OR two households.
Outdoor sports allowed.
12 April at the earliest, opening of:
non-essential retail
hairdressers
nail salons
gyms
outdoor areas in hospitality venues
libraries, museums, zoos and theme parks.
β’ Self-contained accommodation will reopen, but people will only be able to stay with members of their household
17 May at the earliest, opening of:
Pubs
restaurants
cinemas
hotels and B&Bs
children's play areas
β’ Most rules on social contact outdoors will be lifted, while mixing of different households will be allowed indoors.
β’ Up to 30 people will be allowed at weddings, funerals, wakes, receptions and christenings
21 June at the earliest:
All legal limits on social contact set to be removed, with the remaining sectors of the economy reopened. Weddings are the only events where some restrictions may have to remain
