I just met with the Minister for Policing, Nick Hurd MP to discuss the need for more police in our streets and stronger sentences for violent crimes.
One of the top five priorities of my new high street campaign, Towns of the Future, is to keep streets safe with increased police visibility to ensure a welcoming environment. You can read more about Towns of the Future, and how to help, here: https://www.andreajenkyns.co.uk/campaigns/towns-future
I discussed with the Minister the importance of police presence and raised my crime petition that shows residents agree more must be done. I am very pleased that over 350 residents have supported this petition to help fight crime in our area.
Your support will help me keep up the pressure on Local Authorities such as the West Yorkshire Police, the Crime Commissioner, and Central Government to ensure we tackle crime here in Morley and Outwood.
