Andrea Jenkyns MP receives apology from Twitter abuser

In July of this year, I received a vile email containing all sort of abuse. This was a disgusting email, the like of which no one should receive.

I have received and accepted an apology from the person who sent it.
This demonstrates that people will always be accountable for what they post on social media and the email they send.

I was given the opportunity to press charges and pursue the matter further, but I decided that I didn't want to use any more valuable police time, which is better used elsewhere.

The police have been very supportive in bringing this matter to a close, and I wish to thank all those involved in contrasting online bullying and harassment and in protecting MPs and members of the public.

There is no hiding from this sort of abuse. I hope others realise that abuse and violence, in any form, are unacceptable in politics on all sides.
