Andrea Jenkyns MP, the Conservative MP for Morley and Outwood, has said she is “delighted” following the news that a new train station is set to be built at the White Rose, as part of the Government’s £32 million New Stations Fund.
The new station will help support the growth of retail, whilst improving access to employment and leisure in the local area. The aim of the New Stations Fund, is to open new and restored station across England and Wales that reconnect communities, contributing to local economic regeneration and improving access to jobs, homes. and education.
Following the announcement, Conservative MP for Morley and Outwood, Andrea Jenkyns, said:
“I’m absolutely delighted that it has now been announced that a new station is set to be built at the White Rose. Just a few years ago I brought the then Transport Secretary to meet with key local stakeholders at the White Rose to view plans for this exciting project, and to promote the opportunities that it brings. I’m excited to see the jobs and investment coming into our area, and our Government committed to levelling up in Morley and Outwood”.
