Andrea calls for a ban on foie gras after Brexit

Last Thursday, Andrea pledged her support to the campaign to ban foie gras in the UK.

Popular in France, foie gras is a delicacy that is made from the livers of ducks that have been force-fed.  Although currently banned in the UK due to the cruel manufacturing process, around 200 tonnes continues to be imported each year from the continent.

Andrea and other campaigners including the Absolutely Fabulous star Joanna Lumley would like to see the Government ban imports of foie gras after Brexit. Andrea believes "foie gras is a truly cruel practice that has no place in modern day Britain. The fact that we cannot implement an import ban whilst a member of the EU seems ridiculous to me and is yet another reason why we will be better off out."
