I was recently contacted by a resident who has, very sadly, recently lost her son due to an anaphylactic shock. Tragically, nobody was on hand who could offer the support that an EpiPen provides.
I was moved by this story and have written to the Rt Hon Nick Gibb MP, the Secretary of State for School Standards asking for urgent reform to allergy awareness and support. This will help ensure the 20% of people who suffer from one or more allergies can stay safe if they require first aid and emergency medical assistance. Effective reform could save countless lives.
I look forward to hearing the response.
