An honour to attend the Leeds Association of Ukrainians celebrations today. Here is a 1965 Morley concert poster. Long may the friendships continue.
I was delighted to welcome Lord Callanan, Minister of State for Business, Energy and Corporate Responsibility to CLADE Engineering. CLADE are at the forefront of new sustainable technologies and are an industry leader in heat pump manufacturing. In February I opened their new multi-million pound factory in Gildersome Spur (https://www.andreajenkyns.co.uk/news/andrea-opens-new-engineering-facility) showing their commitment to – and confidence in – our growing local economy.
Investments of this nature also signify that Morley and Outwood’s micro economy is ahead of the trend and future-roofed against the inevitable challenges that the future holds.
I’ll be working with CLADE engineering to ensure that they’re able to grow here in our community and continue to be at the heart of the future of our economy.
It was fantastic to visit Gildersome-based business, Johnsons Hotel Linen, to find out about their £10 million investment into our local economy and to hear all about their recruitment drive to provide well-paid, flexible work for local people.
Really wonderful to visit Cats Protection in Gildersome yesterday, with Clifford. A big thank you to their amazing team for all that they do for our furry friends. They have some beautiful cats that are looking for their forever homes.
I LOVE HEATH COMMON:

Super pleased that Andrea Jenkyns, Conservative MP for Morley and Outwood whose constituency includes parts of the new City Fields development, came to see the proposed site for herself today and is backing the campaign and will be making representations.
Thank you Andrea Jenkyns MP – for your time today & support!
Thanks again to all of you who have liked, shared and supported our page.
An inspirational visit with Tempus Novo, founded by 2 former Prison Officers from HMP Leeds. Their targeted support for offenders through meaningful work are proven to reduce reoffending, save money & make communities safer; giving people a chance to have a fresh start in life!
It was great to visit Hall Cliffe Primary in Wrenthorpe today, thank you Witherslack Group for showing me your amazing facilities, teachers & your inspiring pupils!
They are the leading provider of specialist education & care for SEND children, providing skills for life to pupils!
Just had an incredible visit to DHL Global in Tingley!
Their range of services is mind-blowing, and there are plenty of jobs opportunities. As the Skills Minister I championed faster training for truck drivers, helping get Britain moving!
It was wonderful to officially open the #Tingley Garden Centre today and for my little 6 year old Clifford to cut the ribbon. It is a fabulous place.
I was delighted to be able to officially open Tingley Garden Centre today.
Not only has it created 200 jobs and transformed a disused local site but it’s boosted our local offering & displayed the confidence that business has in our local economy.
