Andrea Questions Brexit Secretary in Parliament

Today during another session of the Exiting the European Union Select Committee, I asked the Secretary of State, Steve Barclay, some questions on the negotiations with the EU.

I am pleased that. under our new Prime Minister Boris Johnson, his approach to Brexit is steadfast and he is committed to respecting the referendum result.

I asked the Secretary of State how the negotiations have changed, and how his role had changed, under our new Prime Minister. Residents can see his answer here.

Mr Barclay noted that the ‘Benn Bill’, or ‘Surrender Act’ had frustrated the negotiations, calling it “unhelpful”- but stated that the teams are working hard to get a good deal for Britain.
