Andrea participates in Drighlington Community Library’s Easter Bake Sale
Andrea has participated in the annual Easter Bake Sale organised by the Drighlington Community Library. The Library, managed by volunteers, organises annual events to support the local community. This season, they chose to fundraise money for the Drighlington Old Folks Outing, a charity operated by residents of the village organising trips for elderly citizens. The Drighlington Old Folks Outing organises yearly trips to touristic locations for up to 200 locals. Further money was raised with a tombola and a raffle.
Andrea said: “It is really amazing when local residents come together to share a cup of tea and a slice of cake and support each other. The Library’s volunteers are always going the extra mile to organise events in Drighlington and, as a pensioners’ champion myself, is great to see that they have chosen to support The Drighlington Old Folks Outing by baking some great cakes.”
The Library’s next event will be on Saturday 18th May for a “Made in Yorkshire” market.
