Andrea attends “Sunday Spruce up” in Wrenthorpe
What a better way to spend a sunny and chilly Sunday than volunteering to improve our environment? This morning I participated in the “Sunday Spruce” organised by the Wrenthorpe Environmental Society in which volunteers spruced up the village, sweeping up fallen leaves, clearing dead weeds and debris from pavements. It is great to see when a community comes together to improve the place they live and I have worked closely with WRENS on other issues, such as the planning proposals from Wakefield Council that threatened to build thousands of houses in the village. Our green areas must be protected and housing should be delivered on brownfield when possible and it is great to see a caring community creating such a successful network to make Wrenthorpe even more beautiful.
