Dame Andrea Jenkyns
Dame Andrea Jenkyns is the Conservative Member of Parliament for Morley and Outwood, winning her seat in 2015.
In winning the Morley seat, Andrea became the first ‘red wall’ MP and has since been asked to serve as Parliamentary Private Secretary in the Ministry of Housing, Communities, and Local Government, Assistant Government Whip, and – most recently – Under Secretary of State for Skills; serving under three Conservative Prime Ministers.
Dame Andrea’s local voice, on a national level, represents a unique approach to politics which makes sure that the successes of Morley and Outwood are seen – at home and around the world.
Dame Andrea lives here in Morley and Outwood with her son, Clifford George, and her three dogs; Godiva, Gertrude, and Suzie.
As a straight-talking Yorkshire woman, Dame Andrea doesn’t shy away from taking the tough decisions, and has been instrumental in improving outcomes right across our area; from increased policing numbers to improved school outcomes for students right across the constituency.
Charity Fundraising
As a classical soprano, Dame Andrea has used her musical talents to fundraise for important causes – at home around the world.
From supporting women’s health to children’s cancer care, Dame Andrea has sung for audiences around the constituency including the annual Morley Festival of Remembrance and her singing has featured on national and international radio and television.
A highlight of Andrea’s singing careers is that she sung for the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Benazir Bhutto. Dame Andrea has produced her own albums.
