ANDREA JENKYNS
My Graduation
My article about Graduation from University this week
Today Andrea Jenkyns realised a life long dream when she graduated from university last week at the age of 40. Andrea, who hopes to win the Morley and Outwood constituency for the Conservatives in next May’s general election, graduated from the University of Lincoln with upper second class honours in International Relations and Politics, having also completed a Diploma in economics from the Open University last December.
Andrea, who started her retail career on the shop floor aged 16 and worked her way up to management positions in blue chip companies, said “I’ve graduated today at the age of 40, if I can do it anyone can, it’s never too late”. She went on to say “There are lots of great opportunities for young people today, whether they want to go into higher education or start work straight way, for example over 3000 people have started apprenticeships in Morley and Outwood since 2010”.
Andrea’s mum Valerie said “I’m very proud of Andrea, she’s the first person in our family to go to university.”
