ANDREA JENKYNS
Morley Business Awards Ceremony

It was a privilege to attend this years Morley Business Awards, which are a celebration of business and enterprise in Morley. I was sat on the same table as the owner of Sue’s Kitchen in Morley. I must admit I do have a soft spot for their homemade soups, and especially the Mushroom flavour and cannot resist calling in for a hot bowl. It was an eventful and enjoyable evening and there were so many outstanding local businesses who were nominated.

I was particularly impressed by the number of young people who have set up their own business and were nominated. One young lady in her early twenties ran her own beauty therapy/nail technician business for four years Fibulocious; she employed staff, had strong links with the local school, offered work experience placements and also taught at the local school. The young lady is truly an inspiration.

The winners were: Fibulocious (Two awards), Beadelicious, Shake, Latte and Roll, Board to Tiers, Wealth tree Consultancy and Churwell Environmental Volunteers.
